Tarana School of Kathak Dance
Tarana School of Kathak Dance is run by Sumita Dutta. A disciple of Pt. Vijay Shankar and Padmabibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj, Sumita is an eminent Kathak Dancer and teacher by her own rights. She has been running her Kathak Dance School Tarana in Sorrento, Western Australia.
Tarana offers Indian classical dance lessons to students of all ages from 5 years to matured adults. The aim of the school is to impart Kathak lessons at all levels through individual and group classes.
TARANA always maintains to preserve the integrity of Kathak Dance as passed over from generations to generations through Gurus of Lucknow Gharana with artistic and improvised choreography to enhance the skills of the students.
